A Bit About Black Tie Club New Orleans Gulf Coast
Key Points for BTC New Orleans – Gulf Coast (Club)
-
What is it? A social group for gay men (only) that is focused on good wine, fine dining and meeting fellow men of similar interests.
-
What is the cost? Annual dues are $150 with approx. $65 going to the Black Tie Club International (BTCI) to certify our affiliation as the New Orleans – Gulf Coast Chapter of BTCI.
-
We are a non-profit group that only exists to be a social club; therefore, there will be no political advocacy or fund raising required as a member. The Club will be self- funded by members based on our “pay as you go” to event model. The cost of our events will be divided by the RSVP attendees to cover Club costs.
-
How many events? We must have one formal event each year to meet BTCI rules; however, many BTCI chapters have 2 or more formal events per year. This will be dictated by membership levels and by vote of members. Other events will be non-formal events such as dinners, cocktail parties, etc. These will be held throughout the year to keep membership engaged and build up to our annual formal event.
-
Why start the CLUB here in New Orleans Gulf Coast? The three founders: Cary Oswald - President, Kevin Hemenger - Treasurer and Tony Leggio – Host Committee Chair believe our social scene in New Orleans would benefit from such a group.
-
Is BTCI engaged and supportive of the Club’s efforts? Absolutely, the New Orleans Gulf Coast Chapter was formally recognized by BTCI in April 2026.
-
What are the geographic boundaries of the Club? Our goal is to recruit membership from Lake Charles, LA to Destin, FL.
